Petrina Ann (Bruno) Watkins

Petrina Ann Watkins (nee: Bruno) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  She was born in Jersey City to the late Rose (nee: Cascio) and Dominick Bruno, and was a Bayonne resident for most of her life, prior to relocating to Bradley Beach.  Petrina was a secretary for the Bayonne Board of Education, serving the school communities of Horace Mann and Woodrow Wilson.

Petrina was a devoted parishioner of the Church of St. Henry and a member of the Mothers’ Auxiliary Club of St. Dominic’s Academy, the St. Peter’s Prep Parents’ Association and the Bayonne Education Foundation.

Petrina was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Gerard Watkins.  She is survived by her loving children, Joseph Watkins (Jennifer), Jeffrey Watkins (Crystina) and Liana Watkins (Stephanie); her adoring grandson, Joseph Gerard Watkins II; her dear sister-in-law, Maryann Bruno; her loving companion, Henry Carroll; and her dearest friend, Lisa Marie Browne.  She was also predeceased by her dear brother, John Bruno.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Saturday, December 2, 2017.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Henry’s Church at 11:00 a.m. Private cremation will follow.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
