Julie Glock, 69, of Bayonne, passed away at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick after a short illness.
Julie was a school nurse in the Bayonne School District for the past 25 years at Mary J. Donohoe and Horace Mann schools. She prided herself on her compassion in caring for others’ children while at school, and made each child feel as though his or her issue was the most important one facing her that day.
She began her nursing career working in emergent care before transitioning to private practice nursing when her children were born. Her career as a school nurse began in Jersey City before she was employed in Bayonne.
Family was Julie’s top priority. She enjoyed planning trips to plays or sporting events with her children and grandchildren or making a plan for the family’s next vacation. Her selflessness was apparent in everything she did, trying to ensure that the people around her whom she loved wanted for nothing.
Julie is survived by her daughter, Christy and son, Keith, along with her loving grandchildren, Reese Marie and Brennan Charles, her sister, Catherine (husband John), her sister Mary Lou (husband Paul) as well as nieces, a nephew, and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles, who passed away in 2016 after a three-year battle with ALS.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry’s Church (82 West 29th Street, Bayonne).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association of Greater New York at www.als-ny.org.
