Mary Ann Lisa (nee: Butler) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at her Totowa home. She was born in Aruba to the late Mary (nee: Nugent) and William Butler. Mary Ann spent her childhood on the island of Aruba and in the Netherlands. She moved with her family to Bayonne, where she later graduated from Holy Family Academy and Jersey City State College. She raised her three children in Nutley and later moved to Totowa. She was a retired science teacher who served the communities of Bloomfield, Belleville, and Elizabeth for over 30 years. She enjoyed traveling across Europe, bird watching, and most of all spending time with her family.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, Charles Lisa, Jr.; her beloved children, Charles Lisa III, and his wife, Judith, Jonathan Lisa, and his wife, Christina, and Michelle Down, and her husband, Kyle; her cherished grandchildren, Shawn, Charles IV, Nicole, Joseph and Luke, and her dear siblings, William Butler, John Butler, and his wife, Traise, and Patrick Butler, and his wife, Sondra.
The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Saturday, October 24, 2020. A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Henry at 10:45 a.m. Private Cremation will follow. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
