Michael Gawason

Michael J. Gawason passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.  He was born in Bayonne to the late Minnie (nee: Pinteley) and Louis Gawason and was a lifelong Bayonne resident. He was a retired factory worker for Western Electric and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Mr. Gawason proudly served the nation as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association and the Bayonne Elks Lodge.

Mr. Gawason is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara (nee: Price) Gawason; and his dear brother, Paul Gawason.  He was predeceased by his dear siblings, Walter Gawason and Ann Mills.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, private funeral services were conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc.
