Teodoro Millado Tongson

Teodoro Millado Tongson (Teds), 76, died peacefully on April 26, 2022, with his family by his side at Holy Name Medical Center at Teaneck, NJ.

Teds was born in Sta. Cruz, Zambales, Philippines on December 7, 1945, with a twin sister, Milagros. He is one of the 11 children of Atanasia Millado and the late Mayor Alfonso Tongson of Sta. Cruz, Zambales.

Teds and his wife Suellen migrated in the United States in 2005 shortly after retiring from his work as a Quay Crane Operator at International Container Terminal Services, Inc. in Manila, Philippines.

Teds is a kind, loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and a friend to all whose lives he touched. He is known to be a funny, joyful and a generous person and will always have a lot of interesting stories to tell. Teds would always keep himself busy, from reading the news and watching current and political events, and most importantly, spending quality time with his wife, children and his grandchildren.

He would often cook, run errands, pick up the grand kids from school and spend grandpa time with them. There was a never dull moment, and for those stories he told and the joyful memories he would be remembered forever. He loved collecting sneakers and hats, especially, baseball hats, snapback caps, dad hats and trucker style hats.

Teds is survived by his wife Suellen, daughters Pearl, Shirley, Anne and son Joseph and grandchildren Alyssa, Jan, Madison, Solomon, Skylar, David and Atanasia. He was the brother of the late Alfonso Jr. (Marilyn), the late Corazon Tongson-Miraflor (Artemio), Milagros Tongson-Villamaria (Edmundo), Juan Tongson (Ann), Dr. Virgilio Tongson (Marlyn), Thelma Tongson-Rivera (Bobby), Mario Tongson (Rebecca), Marrieta Tongson, Teresa Tongson (Deepak), and Jessica Tongson (John).

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home on Saturday, May 7, 2022. A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Henry at 9:30 a.m. Cremation will follow at Rosehill Crematory, Linden.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Entombment of Teds' ashes will take place on May 21. 2022, at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum.
