Amelia Massarelli

Amelia Massarelli, affectionately known as “Babs,” passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2020. She was born in Bayonne to the late Amalia (nee: Biondi) and Riccardo Massarelli and was a lifelong resident.  She was a teacher for the Elizabeth Board of Education for 33 years, retiring in 1987.  She then maintained a secretarial position with the athletic department of St. Peter’s University in Jersey City.

Ms. Massarelli was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Parish, and a member of the Rosary Society.

Ms. Massarelli was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Dr. Arthur Massarelli, Mary Massarelli, Jean Falkowski, and Carmella Massarelli.  She is survived by her loving nieces, Bernadette Bader (Pat) and Ann Marie Falkowski; her cherished nephews, Dr. Richard (Jeanne) and Michael Massarelli (Debbie); and many loving, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, private funeral services were conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. A Memorial Mass will take place at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
