James Petronick Obituary

James M. Petronick passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Bayonne Medical Center.  He was born in Bayonne to the late Margaret (nee: McCloskey) and Michael Petronick and was a lifelong resident.  He was a supervisor at IMTT, Bayonne, prior to retirement. 

James proudly served the nation as a member of the United States Air Force.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Star of the Sea Council #371.

James loved crabbing off the dock in Toms River. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. He was a great artist and loved painting, both watercolor and oil. He also liked to collect coins.

A tremendous baseball player, he was drafted by the Tigers before enlisting in the Air Force.

James was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia (nee: Isidori) Petronick; and his loving son, James Petronick, Jr.  He is survived by his beloved children, Lisa Weaver, and her husband, Keith, and Michael Petronick, and his wife, Raven; and his adoring grandchildren, Jessica, Jaxson, Jordan. Jamie and Kendra; and his five cherished great grandchildren.  He was also predeceased by his dear brother, Thomas.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  Visitation will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
